A new modular video surveillance and storage system from Chubb is providing organisations  with the security tools they need to more easily and affordably detect, capture, and record criminal activity.  The advanced system, known as NVe offers customers superior image quality and improved remote access.

Advantages of NVe

The advantages of NVe include the ability to view, record and replay up to 400 pictures per second, customers can use a standard USB memory stick to download video clips quicker and more easily, as well as the added benefit of built-in system diagnostics, which can send alarms via email, text or images to the service centre via an optional dedicated link.

Other benefits include secure remote logons authenticated with a password allowing the download of Video recording and the ability to search through recorded surveillance for an incident.
The new technology replaces expensive, old-fashioned, line-based solutions with a more cost-effective, high speed internet solution.  NVe utilises leading-edge H.264 video codec technology to provide superior video quality and reduce storage needs and network bandwidth utilization.

Technical Information

The NVe system is a “bridge” between the DVR (digital video recorder used for analogue cameras) and DVS (digital video server used for streaming video and networked camera recording).  It is also built on a modern computer platform using VxWorks as the operating system on a flash disk. 

There are 38v model variations.  All include video-only management software - free to enable customers to better manage NVe’s at multiple sites or large bank of NVes  at one site.
